Information sur la situation à Santiago Xanica, Oaxaca, Mexico

Les collectifs européens Nodo Solidale (Italie), le collectif Zapatiste "Marisol" de Lugano (Suisse), Nomads de XM24(Italie) qui forme la Plateforme Internationaliste pour la Résistance et l'Autogestion Faisant l'Autonomie(PIRATA en espagnol), ils organisèrent une brigade d'observation sur la violation des droits des peuples indiens dans la municipalité de Santiago Xanica, Oaxaca, Mexique, dans laquelle participèrent aussi des activistes français et espagnol. La brigade parcouru la municipalité et les alentours, recueillant des témoignages audios et vidéos dans la partie affectée par les violations du lundi 14 mars jusqu'au lundi 21 mars 2011.

La tâche que la Brigade Internationale s'est donné a été d'écouter, de comprendre, de raconter et de rendre publique ce qui est en train de se produire dans la communauté de Santiago Xanica. Au cours des derniers mois, les habitants de Xanica ont dénoncé les violations et les abus de la part des membres du Parti Révolutionnaire Institutionnel et le groupe de pression contre le comité local de défense des droits indigène (CODEDI Xanica), adhérent de la Sexta, et contre la population en général.

Japanese disaster: Earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear Catastrophe

A gigantic earthquake and subsequent tsunami struck Japan on 11 March. Thousands of people were buried under buildings or died in the flooding. In many of Japan's more than 50 nuclear reactors cooling systems broke down. This caused several hydrogen explosions and at least partial fuel rod meltdowns in the reactor blocks one to three of the Fukushima Daiichi nuke. Around the globe the high-risk technology and its future are being protested against and debated . Switzerland is putting a moratorium on construction of new nuclear power plants. In neighbouring Germany the Neckarwestheim nuke will be closed down permanently and seven other old ones temporarily. On Monday 14 March more than 110,000 people demonstrated against nuclear power in more than 450 towns across Germany. Update 15.03. 14:30: In the cooling basin of Block IV fire broke out, radioactivity got into the atmosphere. High radiation levels are measured, personnel were evacuated from the control room. Cooling in Blocks V and VI is not working properly.
